Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Network Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience across Layer 1 through Layer 3 technologies, a strong background in service provider environments, and the ability to support, maintain, and optimize complex networks.

This role involves configuring, troubleshooting, and maintaining multi-vendor platforms, managing transport and IP networks, and ensuring the stability and efficiency of critical infrastructure.

Job requirements

Key Responsibilities:

·         Design, deploy, and support Layer 3 routing and switching, with a focus on Juniper platforms.

·         Configure and troubleshoot routing protocols, including BGP, OSPF, ISIS, and Segment Routing.

·         Manage and troubleshoot Layer 2 equipment, including RAD, Ciena, and MRV systems.

·         Deploy and maintain Metro Ethernet services such as ELINE, ELAN, and ETREE, including service validation and troubleshooting using Y.1564 and Y.1731.

·         Operate and maintain Layer 1 transport platforms such as Fujitsu, Optelian, DZS, and Cyan.

·         Administer and update NCS circuit inventory management systems.

·         Monitor and optimize network performance using SolarWinds NMS.

·         Perform root cause analysis and provide escalation support for complex network issues.

·         Document network designs, configurations, and processes.

·         Collaborate with internal teams and vendors on network planning, provisioning, and incident resolution.

·         Ensure compliance with security and operational best practices.

·         Formulation & execution of robust Vertical GTM & Account Plans

·         Development & execution of Account-centric Contact Plans

·         Identification & execution of upsell & cross-sell strategies

 

Required Skills & Qualifications:

·         Minimum of 5 years of professional networking experience in a service provider environment.

·         Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field (equivalent experience considered).

·         Strong expertise in Juniper routing and switching (Layer 3).

·         Hands-on experience with RAD, Ciena, MRV devices (Layer 2).

·         Operational experience with Fujitsu, DZS, and Cyan transport systems (Layer 1).

·         Proficiency with NCS circuit inventory tools.

·         Experience with SolarWinds NMS for monitoring and alerting.

·         Solid understanding of TCP/IP, MPLS, VLANs, BGP, OSPF, ISIS, Segment Routing, and other routing protocols.

·         Knowledge of Metro Ethernet services (ELINE, ELAN, ETREE) and associated test methodologies (Y.1564, Y.1731).

·         Knowledge of optical networking concepts (DWDM, SONET, Ethernet over fiber).

·         Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in high-pressure environments.

·         Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

·         Industry certifications such as JNCIA, JNCIS, CCNP, or equivalent.

·         Extensive experience with DWDM transport system implementation and design.

·         Experience with network automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Python scripting).

·         Familiarity with ITIL processes (incident, change, and problem management).

·         Previous experience in telecom, ISP, or large-scale enterprise networks.
