Senior Staff Accountant

Job description

The Senior Staff Accountant is responsible for the financial aspects of Accelecom. This position will maintain accounts receivables, payables, month-end and year-end closing, and reconciliations of financial records. This position reports directly to the Controller.

  • Maintains Accounts Receivables (monthly billings, cash receipts, customer collections, customer account reconciliations and all matters pertaining to AR)
  • Maintains Accounts Payables (data entry, vendor payments, vendor account reconciliations, purchase order maintenance and all matters pertaining to AP)
  • Perform monthly closing procedures and balance sheet, P&L accounts, as assigned. This includes performing and/or reviewing account reconciliations, costs, revenue, and obligations incurred.
  • Knowledge of accounting practices and concepts
  • Knowledge of preferred business practices
  • Knowledge of internal control processes
  • Knowledge of manual and automated accounting application systems to supply the most accurate financial information
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite – particularly Word and Excel
  • High energy level, comfortable performing and prioritizing multifaceted projects in conjunction with day-to-day activities
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; Ability to get along with diverse personalities

  • Good reasoning abilities and sound judgment

Job requirements

  • Minimum of four years related accounting experience.
  • Associates degree in accounting or related field preferred. A CPA license would be a plus.
